IMG Boys Invitation Tournament – Super Group

Spurs Odyssey reporter Ray Lo has travelled to Florida to watch our Academy side play in this tournament over the next few days. I shall update the website with each report asap after submission. The first match report is coming very soon! All reports will be linked through this page.

Here is Ray's introduction to the competition:-

This is a tournament taking place at the IMG Academy in Bradenton in Florida. The super group is made up eight teams split into two groups of four. Each team will play all four teams in the other group with the winner of the tournament being the team with the best record from the four matches. With Under Armour as sponsors, Spurs are a big draw for the tournament.

       Group 1 Group 2

US U-17 National Team IMG U-18 Academy
Baltimore Celtic Alliance Academy, MI
Cruzeiro U-18(Brazil) Tottenham Hotspur U-18
Queretaro U-18(Mexico) Stevenage U-18

All games will be 90 minutes long. Spurs play Queretaro on Wednesday at 1pm (6pm in England) in their opening game. On Thursday they meet Baltmore Celtic at noon. On friday they meet the US U-17 National side in a 5.30pm kick-off. Saturday is a rest day before their final game which will be against Cruzeiro U-18 at 8am.

All games are 90 minutes long and Spurs are sending an 18 man squad. Cruzeiro beat Spurs in the Dallas Cup in 2011 at the semi-final stage, going on to win the tournament. Spurs played Stevenage not long ago in the FA Youth Cup and just beat them 2-1 thanks to a goal in added time by Souleymane Coulibaly.
