In-play soccer betting guide

In-Play Soccer Betting Guide
by our special correspondent

It's not enough to be able to punt on pre-match soccer markets, online bookmakers also offer the ability to wager on a soccer match in-play. In-play betting allows you to bet on a soccer match as it's being played live.

That's right. Next time you're sitting in front of the telly watching the Premier League, you can also be betting on the match. Bookmakers offer dozens of in-play betting markets on every soccer match.

Throughout the years, punters have come up with hundreds of in-play soccer betting systems. While a system won't guarantee a profit, you can have a better chance at turning a profit by being disciplined and following a system.

A lot of punters love in-play betting on soccer matches because you no longer need to handicap how many goals will be scored or who will win. You can trade the price movements and profit in seconds on in-play markets.

One of those systems is the "Over 1.5 Goals Soccer Betting System".

The aim of this system is trade in and out of the market to lock in a profit before the match ends. The first step is to target soccer matches where you expect goals to be scored and where the O1.5 odds are around $1.30.

You don't place a bet on O1.5 goals yet. You watch the match and hope no early goals are scored. The O1.5 goals will begin to drift and around the 40-45 minute mark, the odds on O1.5 goals should be $1.70 or higher.

Once the odds are $1.70 or better you should place a bet on O1.5 goals. Now you simply wait for the first goal and the odds to drop again. After the first goal the odds should drop to $1.50 or below depending on how much time is left.

At this point you trade out of your position, lock in a profit and move on to your next match to bet in-play.

There are a lot of soccer betting systems like this. There are several ways this bet can go against you, but if you hunt down the right matches (Where goals should be scored), this system can be profitable.

Often the problem is there is a goal early in the match, which means you have to move to the next match.

Another in-play soccer strategy I like to use is to bet on a draw pre-match and then trade out of the bet after the first 30-45 minutes. For this strategy you need to find matches that are expected to be close (Where a draw is likely).

If the match remains tied after 30-45 minutes the odds on the draw will have come in and you'll be able to trade out of the market to lock in a profit. This strategy works best in matches where both teams struggle to score goals.

Set Stop-Loss Limits

When you trade in-play soccer markets on exchanges you can set stop-loss limits and that's recommended once you start betting multiple systems on multiple matches daily because it's impossible to watch every bet closely.

You can even set profit limits, which will trade you out of a market once a certain price (odds) is reached.

It's possible to bet huge amounts of money in-play and you need to be careful. There's no free lunch when you bet on sports. Regardless of what you may read, there's no system that wins 100% of the time.
