Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2012-2013 - Match 20
More on Aaron Lennon's scoring record for Spurs

Aaron Lennon won his fourth man of the match vote by a convincing margin with a score of 8.3 out of 10, as assessed by over 220 voters in the Spurs Odyssey post-match survey for Saturday's game at Sunderland.

Other players getting rave reviews on Saturday were goalkeeper Hugo Lloris (7.6), midfield "beast" Sandro (7.5), and ace wing-man/goal-scorer Gareth Bale (7.6). Lennon is a little behind but it is no co-incidence that Lloris, Bale and Sandro are also battling for the Player of the season vote, with Jan Vertonghen, who was rested for the Sunderland game.

That wonderful Lennon stat of Spurs never losing when he scores was extended, and relates to his 28 goals in 27 matches. We've won all but three of those matches too. Perhaps Aaron's most memorable goal was the winner against Chelsea on November 5th, 2006, when we won 2-1 and brought an end to that horrible 17 year hoodoo of not beating Chelsea in a league game. You might argue the case also for his last minute equaliser at The Emirates in the 4-4 draw against Arsenal in October, 2008.

Aaron also scored last minute winners against Birmingham (August 2009), and Liverpool (November 2010), whilst a last minute equaliser at home to Newcastle in January 2011 was also crucial.

Aaron has now scored twice against Sunderland, but he has yet to score against Reading, Coventry, QPR or Manchester United. I look forward to him scoring in all of those games next! (Especially United)
