Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2014-2015 - Match 15

Hugo Lloris - A man for all season?

I'm a bit late with this review, and it's not going to cheer you up, but I pose the question Hugo Lloris - A man for all season? - for one simple reason. Every Spurs fan knows that our goalkeeper is virtually the only player in the suqad worth his salt. In a home match against Crystal Palace, Hugo was yet again our man of the match, and deservedly so. This one wasn't for being the "least worst" Spurs player, as sometimes happens, but because his saves at least kept us in the game and preserved a point. Let's hope he doees stay with us for the whole season.

Yes, a home point, and no goals against Crystal Palace. It was another under par performance, and let's not dwell on that too much, except to say Fazio and Ben Davies were the only outfield players to register 6 or more out of 10. Against Crystal Palace. Our club reord sigings - Lamela, Solddado, and substitute Paulinho, in that order, managed 3,7, 4.7 and 4.2, in that order. That is nothing short of a disgrace.

We've managed little more than a goal a game in our Premier League matches, and our nominated strikers are hardly bothering the scorers. Nacer Chadli remains our top league scorer, with 6 of our 18 goals.

The team managed a score of 43.6% overall, against Crystal Palace - at home. Our head coach, whose ratings are slipping below his recent predecessors, scored just over 4 out of 10 for his team selection, tactics, and substitutions against Crystal Palace.

And yet, and yet, we are only two points behind Arsenal; level on points with last season's runners-up, Liverpool. Of course, the trouble is they are also well below par this season on current form.

Things can only get better. Kyle Walker is back tomorrow. Keep the faith, Spurs fans.
