Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premier League Season
for 2016-2017 - Matchday 17

Do Arsenal lose every time Danny Rose scores for Spurs?

During our post-match celebrations on Sunday, one of my very good friends suggested that every time Danny Rose scores in the league for Spurs, Arsenal lose! I decided to research this pressing matter:-

Here is Danny's scoring record for Spurs:-

14th April, 2010. St Hotspur Day and never to be forgotten, of course, as young Danny scored a blazing 30 yarder on his Premier League debut against Arsenal, at the age of only 19.

4 years later, Danny scored for us against Stoke, but I'm afraid Arsenal won their game, so I am afraid the theory does not hold water. Arsenal did lose on the day we beat Chelsea 5-3 on New Year's Day 2015, but that didn't happen again that season, when Danny scored two more Premier League goals.

Last year, when we beat Swansea 2-1 and Danny scored, Arsenal did lose, and this season Danny scored against Liverpool. Arsenal won their game that week-end, but of course they did lose on Sunday, while Danny Rose was scoring a sensational winner for Spurs!

In conclusion it is a fact that with a total of 8 Premier League goals for Danny Rose, Arsenal have lost on 4 of those occasions, so all I can say is "Keep scoring Danny!"

P.S - Danny Rose was convincingly your man of the match.

Football is known to be a game of opinions, and here are the four comments I received regarding match referee Kevin Friend:-

1. One of the better performances seen at The Lane this season.
2. Not bad.
3. Kevin Friend had a bad day at the office.
4. Useless referee.

Thanks as always for all votes cast, and all comments offered. Have a great Christmas!
