Guess who is our player of the month!

I am sure you will have answered the question already, but the form of our powerful midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been such a revelation not only this month, but certainly since late October. You may recall that Moussa was head and shoulders above his team-mates in the home defeat against Manchester City on 29th October.

Sissoko has been voted our man of the match in just one more game this month, and that was the last one at home to Inter, which we won to keep our Champions League hopes alive as we go into the last game away to Barcelona. What a game that could be!

Moussa Sissoko scored highly in the last three games of the month at Crystal Palace, then at home to Chelsea and Inter. He scored 8.1 on the spursometer in both those last two games. Suddenly the fans, the press, and even Sissoko's International manager are being won over, as Moussa's form won him a recall to the French National squad. Just to confirm - you have voted Moussa your player of the month for November. The only game he sat out was Champions League matchday four at home to PSV when he didn't get off the bench.

With so many games (and we are playing two a week now until the New Year at least), Mauricio Pochettino has had to rotate his squad wisely, especially as so many of our players have been key to their respective International side. It was great to see Jan Vertonghen's return to action against Inter this week.

Harry Kane has been crucial to club and country (again) this month, scoring five goals including the late winner against Croatia which gave England passage to next summer's Nations League four-team finals mini-tournament. Harry's two goals against PSV this month gave us the win that maintained our Champions League hopes, and he was one of our three scorers against Chelsea too. Kane scored four of our ten goals this month.

"Sonny"'s goal against Chelsea will surely be a contender for the Premier League goal of the month, and maybe goal of the season as he made mince-meat of Chelsea's so called tower of strength Jorginho, and wafted past the ineffective David Luiz. (The award was confirmed by The Premier League on 14th December)

We have won all five games played this month, and that win against Chelsea gives us a crack at equalling the Premier League record of 8 consecutive London Derby wins if we can get the result at The Emirates on Sunday. (Watford - where we lost in September - do not count in these official stats).

Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies and Harry Kane have been ever-present this month. Juan Foyth got his first club goal at Crystal Palace, and has also made his debut for Argentina at the age of 20. Paulo Gazzaniga also made a first International appearance for Argentina, and Erik Lamela is back in the fold for his country. Such is the influence of our manager upon the form and recognition of his players!

You might also be interested to know that between them, Moussa Sissoko, Serge Aurier, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli have no yellow cards so far this season with 20 matches played!

We've climbed up to third place and all oour observers are sitting up now. Let's hope everyone is still talking positively about us at the end of a busy December in which we play 9 games.
