Glenn Hoddle's second "Manager of the Month" award proved to be a millstone, as his Jekyll and Hyde team lost three out of their four games in September. The dismal performance and almost zero rating against Middlesbrough ensured that the Spursometer shows a radical deterioration on both last month, and last year.
Clearly, defensive ability and score ratio has been a problem. Three grades below 50% is unforgiveable really. Robbie Keane has given us hope, and we look forward to his debut goal, but those around him must show more determination. There can only be improvement next month - can't there?
