Spurs players compete in bookmaker William Hill darts challenge
We’re now well into the 2017 William Hill world darts championship over at Alexandra Palace which recently saw Spurs players Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Michel Vorm and Danny Rose step up and take the William Hill darts challenge. Bookmakers William Hill are an official partner of the club and also one of a number of bookmakers that have excellent betting odds on darts and tons of other international sports betting choices like football (Premiership, Champions League etc.), golf, rugby and tennis. You can find a complete list of bookmakers that offer the best odds on all types of sports betting if you click here. Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Vorm and Rose faced off in the #WHDarts challenge which is fought over 2 separate rounds. The famous bookie really tested their skills when it came to throwing arrows and we saw some hilarious scenes, with great banter from the boys throughout the competition.
Bookmakers challenge Spurs players show great sportsmanship and support for good causes
The William Hill challenge is a 2v2 competition played over 2 rounds which saw the 4 lads split off into opposing teams; Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen vs Michel Vorm and Danny Rose. The first of the two challenges was a straight up 6 dart shootout, where the highest combined total wins. Belgian duo Jan and Toby squared off against Michel and Danny in the first contest but it was Vorm and Rose who faired badly against the 2 Belgians despite showing a lot of promise during the initial warm up sessions.
Things got really explosive during the second round which required each team member to hit as many inner and outer bullseyes as possible in 60 seconds. The players had to throw and retrieve their darts before the other could begin so it was a really frantic round compared to the first. The competition really heated up here and Michel and Danny made quite the comeback which leveled the challenge and brought it to a close finish, to see who won check out the video on the Spurs Facebook page.
In the true spirit of Christmas, the boys also accepted a side challenge from William Hill in which they had to hit their shirt number with only 3 darts in order to win money for charity. You can checkout this video on the Spurs Facebook page to see who managed to hit their number in support of good causes.
