To be honest, before researching this monthly report on Spurs' form, I was expecting to have to write a headline such as "Another poor month for Spurs". However, the best and worst I can offer is that it is another month of mediocrity from the team we all love through thick and thin.

This is the ninth such report for the 2002-3 season, and there will be one more for the two matches to come in May, plus a review of the season. April's figures fall right in the middle of the scores so far this season. There have been four better months (none approaching the ecstacy of August, when we were level top of the league after three games), and four worse months. I suppose that is the saddest point to make, that on four occasions this season, the team has managed less than this months average mark of just 54%.

April started with a scrambled win against Birmingham, continued with a creditable draw at Elland Road, but then the disastrous worse performance of the season on Good Friday brought us to our senses.

The official site peddles "good news stories" such as Simon Davies looking forward to the DC United Friendly, whilst doing little to counter the concerted negative press coverage that has followed the Man Utd game.

It's season ticket renewal time, and I sense desperation in the air, when the Chairman has to urge us to continue to support our club next season. I shall be keeping them waiting till I see commitment towards the football side of the club.

...and finally - you can compare this month's figures with last month, and last year.
