December 2002

Spurs have reached crisis point, having ended the year in the bottom three. Yet, whilst the performances are not ones to be proud of overall, they are not markedly different from November. The month started well with good results over Man City and Wolves (admittedly poor sides on the day), and even the defeats against Man Utd and Charlton included some fine play by Spurs at times.

Disaster at Newcastle, Portsmouth and at home against Charlton, coupled with the penalty shoot-out defeat against Middlesbrough ensured that Spurs fans ended the year in despair.

The bottom line is that Spurs ARE only an average side. The table does not lie at the half-way stage, and we can only hope for improvement - soon! Mind you, the impending departure of Fredi Kanoute to play for Mali in the African Nations Cup only acerbates the crisis.

...and finally - you can compare this month's figures with Last month , and last year (December 2002).
