The "Spursometer" was introduced in November 2000, since when we have had gone through two managers and now endured an acting manager for most of this season. After a month in which we failed to win a game, and played most dismally at Goodison Park and Bolton, you might expect that this month's overall performance mark of only 46% would be the worst in the (almost) four seasons of the exclusive Spurs Odyssey form guide.
Not that I expect you to feel any better for it, but I can tell you that three times last season, under Glenn Hoddle the Spursometer fell below this month's tide mark. In May 2003 the team achieved only 19.5%, through two horrible 4 goal defeats against Middlesborugh and Blackburn. (We must repeat the latter fixture in the weeks to come).
In two other months (March 2003 and November 2002 ) Glenn led the side to poorer levels than this month's low from Mr. Pleat.
Regarding the month under review, our best games came against better opposition. Both Chelsea and Arsenal had stiffer tests by far than Manchester City, Everton and Bolton.
Still, at least we found scoring ways again, if only to a limited degree. The highlight of the month has to be Robbie's injury time penalty, and you can admire the moment once again in the picture on the right!
We all hope of course that the team can be re-ignited with passion for the last three games of another all-too forgettable season.
