Paul Higgins provides a Tranmere fan's perspective on this Sunday's 5th Round tie:-

Although Spurs beat Tranmere Rovers in the League Cup earlier in the season with no problems whatsoever, especially with the referee's assistance!!, they are looking forward to the challenge this weekend.

But anyway this Sunday Tranmere will turn-up at White Hart Lane with nothing to lose. Our complete squad are youngsters or freebies except Wayne Allison (£350,000) but two other players who you would probably know would be Paul Rideout, who scored the winning goal for Everton in one of the mid 90's FA Cup Final's and Stuart Barlow who also used to play for Everton a few years ago. Our young star, Jason Koumas, is easily too good for the Second Division and depending where he is situated on the pitch (left wing or centre/midfield) he can be a threat to any team! We have a problem with injuries and suspension in defence so Spurs are fortunate on that aspect, but seriously this is an advantage because one of our youngsters might have to play, Richard Hinds, who has little experience in big occasions like this.

Our main interest is promotion this season back to the First Division after being relegated last season and so I'm sure we will be playing mainly to get a respectable result more than anything! But of course a good run in the cup is good for the club financially so that's why the fans where pleased when we got Spurs in the draw for the 5th round.

Everyone has noticed the way in which Spurs have improved as the season has progressed but as we all know football is a funny old game and you just never know!!
