Despite their appointment of Steve McLaren as their new manager, Middlesbrough lost their first four games of the season, but leap-frogged West Ham at the bottom with their first win in their fifth game. After beating Leicester in their next game, the North-East side kept clear of the bottom three, but have never been quite safe from the fear of relegation.
The dramatic win at Old Trafford last week has lifted the Borough into the top half of the table, but they will be looking for three points to perhaps feel assured of Premiership football next season.
A look at the league positions above indicates that Middlesbrough COULD lift themselves above Spurs with a good win, but we got a useful away win at Fulham last week, and our confidence will have lifted to such a degree that maybe we will fancy our chances.
Neil Sullivan let in five goals against the World Champions last night, but that shouldn't prevent him being picked for this game. Team news will follow just as soon as it is available. Those of you with access to Pay Per View TV will be able to see this game which kicks off at 5.35 p.m. Think about the poor souls like me, who will trudge (alright - drive!) there and back, getting home about midnight with any luck. If you want the Spurs Odyssey perspective on things, then look out for the report mid-morning Easter Sunday!
Incidentally, although I have started applying reverse psychology to my predictions (I am in relegation trouble in my Prediction League:( ), I fancy this will be a fairly dour 1-1 draw. Look forward to loads of excitement then!
Happy Easter to those who celebrate, and respect to those who don't.
