Records are made to be broken, but it's not that long since Spurs managed to lose four league games on the trot. Last season Glenn's side did lose 4 games consecutively, but they were not all in the Premiership. The last time this happened was in October-November 1997:-
S'hampton A 2-3
Leeds H 0-1
Liverpool A 0-4
C. Palace H 0-1
The loss to Liverpool brought Gerry Francis's resignation, and Chris Hughton took temporary charge of the Palace game, before Christian Gross won his first game as manager at Goodison Park. So, there's one record Spurs will hope is not broken, whilst they will also hope that Birmingham's International loan signing, Christian Dugarry, will not break his scoring duck for the Blues against us.
Birmingham will be missing a couple of key players. The man we love to hate - Robbie Savage - will be suspended, and Cise is struggling to return from injury.
Both teams have suffered a dip in form since the New Year. Spurs have won just 3 out of 11 games, whilst Birmingham have won 3 out of 10. However, Steve Bruce's side has won three of its last 4 games, starting with a fine 2-1 win against Liverpool, inspired by their new signings, which included our own Stephen Clemence, who has been allowed a prominent role. He even scored a headed goal in that Liverpool game!
Birmingham are still on the periphery of the relegation battle with 35 points, but their vital win over West Brom last time out was a great boost, and this is a side more than capable of beating Spurs. (But then Spurs can lose to anyone at the moment)
Hopefully Robbie Keane will be fit enough to play, and the rest of the team will be sufficiently motivated to give the home fans something to cheer at last. I'll let my heart rule my head again, and predict a 2-0 win to Spurs.
