When Spurs went to Old Trafford in September, they were 2nd in the table, having lost just once (at Fulham after being 2-0 up), whilst Man Utd were 10th with two defeats to their name. The knives were being sharpened, but by the turn of the year United had emerged as Championship contenders again, as they rose to second in the table, since when they have maintained the closest of challenges upon Arsenal.

Spurs lost that away game by a Van Nistelrooy penalty, and it wasn't long before they (Spurs) dropped to the sort of position they have maintained for most of the season. If anything, in recent months, our situation has deteriorated badly, as our challenge for Europe has all but dissipated.

It's 19 months since we entertained the Red Devils in September, 2001, and who can ever forget that game? Not Dean Richards, that's for sure, as he scored a goal on his debut, but then saw that dramatic second half come back from United.

We have of course seen this week's dilemma before......(Read the report here), when if Spurs managed to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford (or prevented a win), then Arsenal would have won the league. On that occasion, it was the last day of the season, and although Les Ferdinand scored first, Man Utd recovered and the title was theirs that year.

We haven't beaten Man Utd at Old Trafford in the Premiership, whilst we have managed three home wins. I don't fancy our chances this week, and like many people will be going just to enjoy a good game of football. Unlike some Spurs fans, I shall not openly be hoping for an away win, although that is my prediction, by 3 goals to 1.
