Best Moments 2002-3 season - Being Top of the League

Steven Taylor wrote:-

The best Spurs moment last season was when we were top of the league. For that time, I was over the moon. Everytime I saw any of my other friends, I just could not help but remind them that we were top (and I said we would stay there).

The day after the Charlton match, I put on 10 pound for us to be Premiership winners at the end of the season, but it just was not to be. After we were knocked off the top, I was mocked especially after I told them I put on the bet. But just for that period of time, everytime I put on teletext and got a newspaper our name was printed on top of the table. I still have a copy of the Sun, from the morning after the Charlton match. It's put in a box in my loft with my old Spurs shirts. Just think how much the newspaper could be worth in years to come.

· Read the Charlton report here. We were actually second at the end of the evening.

Teddy's penalty against Southampton at WHL that meant we went top of the Premiership(briefly).

I was with my 9 year old son - his face was a picture. We thought we were witnessing a new dawn. How cruelly we were deceived!!!!

Teddy hits the spot - 31.08.02

A warm late summers afternoon and the south coast big club were on their way back home with nothing. Super Ted had done the bizz with a late late strike from the penalty spot and Spurs took up temporary residence at the summit of the best football league in the world.

Not the best game in the world but 3 points is 3 points we were all feeling optimistic and the beer definitely tasted sweeter than normal in the Cockerel bar (now known as Lucky Larry's)

That would have to be it for me in an otherwise pretty poor season
