Here are a few stats following the victory over Leeds on Saturday. My thanks go to Declan Mulcahy for his assistance.
· Prior to Saturday's 1-0 win at Elland Road, Spurs only previous away win against Leeds in the Premiership was in May 1996, when we won 3-1, with goasl from Anderton (2) and Chris Armstrong. The Leeds goal was scored by Wetherall, and the teams were as follows:-
Leeds Utd: Lukic, Kelly, Worthington, Palmer, Wetherall, Radebe, Ford (Couzens), Tinkler, Masinga, McAllister, Gray
Tottenham: Walker, Edinburgh, Wilson, Howells, Campbell, Mabbutt, Anderton, Dozzell, Armstrong, Sheringham, Fox
· Therefore, two players played in both games - Gary Kelly for Leeds and Darren Anderton for Spurs.
· Robbie Keane's goal puts him level as Spurs top league scorer for the season so far. Both he and Fredi Kanoute have 7 Premiership goals to their name, although overall, Kanoute leads Keane by 12 goals to 8 for the season. Robbie has scored in both the other games he played against previous teams, with his hat-trick against Wolves, and one up at Highfield Road against CDoventry in the Carling Cup.
· Taricco's booking was his sixth of the season - all in League games. Only Anthony Gardner (9 in all games) has more.
· The last time Spurs won three games in succession was October 2002, when they beat Cardiff 1-0 (League Cup), then Bolton (3-1) and Blackburn 2-1 in the Premiership.
· Spurs had also won three on the trot in August 2002, when they were briefly top of the league after wins against Aston Villa (2-1),Charlton (1-0), and Southampton.
· You have to go back to October 2001 to find a 4 match run of wins, Can Spurs do it again next Saturday against Liverpool, also on a winning run?
