Henri Camara was a handful for the Spurs defence in last season's home game. Here he was handled by skipper Ledley King Spurs play their first home Premiership game since the beginning of the month, when they had that glorious win over Chelsea. Since then, their League form has been disappointing to say the least, with the defeat at Reading and a draw at Ewood Park. There will be a very positive atmosphere at The Lane tomorrow though, as the full house will greet its idols who have made great progress in the Carling Cup, and significantly on Thursday night in the UEFA Cup.

Most of the full house might think that they are bound to see a return to league form against Wigan, but for one thing, Spurs have found no Premiership opposition easy this season, and for another, Wigan are once again above Spurs, and in the top half of the table on merit, as they were when we met at the same stage of last season, when we won at the JJB stadium, thanks to goals by Robbie Keane and Edgar Davids.

The "Latics" spoilt Spurs day at White Hart Lane last season, when the corresponding game was played in February. Andreas Johansson scored both Wigan's goals at White Hart Lane, and he gave his side the lead twice, before equalisers by Mido and Jermain Defoe. Pascal Chimbonda played in both games last season, and will be relishing the chance to play this time, with a guarantee of a rough reception from the few Wigan fans likely to travel. Chimbonda's presence was probably the reason that a switch to the left side for Aaron lennon had little success for Spurs in February!

After a less successful start to this season compared to last, Wigan lost at home to Manchester United, but then thrashed Man City 4-0 to go on a run of 4 successive wins. They still haven't lost since the Man Utd game.

Senegal striker Henri Camara is still banging home the goals for Wigan, but he has a new strike partner, Emile Heskey, signed from Birmingham, and even he has been scoring more so far, with three to his name in ten games. Other useful acquisitions for Paul Jewell have been Ecuadorian midfielder Luis Valencia, and striker Todorov, signed from Portsmouth.

Wigan have signed goalkeeper Chris Kirkland on a permanent basis, and Kevin Kilbane was another surprise signing as the season started from the other side of Liverpool. Make no mistake, Wigan are where they are on merit, with plenty of talent to offer, which also includes England under-21 full back Leighton Baines, although he may have to miss this game with a calf injury.

Spurs have no new injury problems after the Leverkusen game and even Jermaine Jenas may be fit enough for a comeback. It's our last game before the trip down the road to "Cashburton Grove", and three points are really a must for Spurs, before facing our nemesis. It's going to be another toughie, and I'll take us to win it by the odd goal in three.
