A new Spurs record for Van der Vaart!

A new Spurs record!
Many congratulations to Rafa van der Vaart, who has won the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month award for October!
Rafa also won the Spurs odyssey Player of the Month award, winning three man of the match awards in the games against Aston Villa (when he scored two goals, one of which has been nominated for the BBC MOTD goal of the month competition), at Fulham (where he lifted a shot above the keeper, rebounding off the bar for Pavlyuchenko to score), and at Old Trafford (where he hit the post)
Rafa also scored the goal in the home game against Everton, and since then scored the first of Spurs three goals in the sensational home win against Inter. By doing that, Rafa attained a new scoring record by any Spurs player in all our league history.
Rafael van der Vaart has now scored in his first six home games for Tottenham Hotspur and is the first Spurs player to do so since Spurs joined the league in 1908-09.

Other Spurs players also made impressive starts to their careers. Len Duquemin scored in his first three competitive home games, as did Garth Crooks. Vivian Woodward (10 goals in first 8 home games), Ted Harper (7 in first 5), Johnny Morrison (17 in first 12), Johnny Jordan (6 in first 5), and Jimmy Greaves (9 goals in first 10 home games) made it to the list. Also of note is the fact that Terry Medwin scored in his first 4 games for Spurs at home and away.
Many thanks to Declan Mulcahy for his research on this record.
