Well done Marine A.F.C - and Spurs!

Like 32,201 other virtual ticket holders, I received the following communiation via a personal e-mail from Marine A.F.C:-

Dear Virtual Ticket Holder,

On behalf of everybody at Marine Football Club I would like to say a HUGE thank you for your contribution to our magical FA cup tie against Spurs. To thank you all we will be creating a wall at the Marine Travel Arena which will contain the names of all Virtual Ticket Holders as a permanent reminder of this fixture and as a permanent tribute. I also attach a copy of a ticket for those who would like to print this as a memento of the game.

To see such support was something that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. The final number of tickets sold was 32,202. Through the £20 option, £53,000 was also raised for Marine In The Community. I attach a thank you video from all at MITC.

As has been announced on social media, the virtual ticket raffle will be taking place on www.facebook.com/marinefootballclub @ 5pm Saturday 30th January. The results will be announced via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on Saturday evening. A random number generator between 1 and 32,202 will be used with the prizes given in the below order:

1. Manager of Marine for a pre-season game for next season - Includes hotel if required
2. 2 x Dare Walk tickets @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
3. 2 x Dare Walk tickets @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
4. 2 x Stadium Tours @ Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

6. Jamie Carragher signed print
7. Weekend in Liverpool for 4 people - Includes hotel and free entry to Marine FC. Flexible dates (to tie in with a Sunday Premier League fixture)

I can only say what a great response this has been by Marine and what a great demonstration of the ability of the "football family" this has been. Tottenham Hotspur football Club and its fans can be very proud of what they have achieved with their responses to this game. Spurs fans have also contributed generously to the Tottenham community, such as food banks when many chose to give to this cause rather than pay the exorbitant pay per view fees demanded earlier this season.

I am always proud to be a Spurs fan, but at times like these this heart-warming story makes me proud to be a football fan!
