Sponsorship Deal Termination with INEOS - What's Next for Tottenham?

Image of football on the pitch

INEOS has decided to exit their sponsorship deal with Tottenham Hotspur. The early exit strategy of INEOS can cost the automobile brand millions of pounds for withdrawing from the agreement. The 5-year sponsorship deal was signed in 2022, allowing Tottenham Hotspur to display their dugouts and digital screens at their stadium in London with INEOS branding.

Once the news of their sponsorship exit was official, INEOS branding was removed from the stadium. Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur took notice of the change in branding during their home match victory against AZ Alkmaar in the Europe League. INEOS moved out of the contract 2 years earlier than agreed upon initially, prompting Tottenham Hotspur to secure new sources for commercial partnerships and financial planning in the days ahead.

Beyond traditional sponsorships, Tottenham Hotspur is seeking new revenue streams across digital industries. The rapidly growing presence of crypto casinos and blockchain-based tech companies in the United Kingdom (UK) has let football clubs explore innovative ways to gain financial stability in the disruptive market.

The INEOS Grenadier was the official 4x4 vehicle partner of Tottenham Hotspur for the last 3 years. It has a galvanized steel body, hydraulic power steering, disc brakes on the front and rear wheels. The interiors are water-resistant with a dedicated pathfinder for off-road navigation and airbags for safety. These advanced features of the vehicle have turned the INEOS Grenadier into a massive success in the UK.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder of INEOS bought 28% stake in Manchester United at the beginning of 2024. His minority stake in the English football club cost around £1.25 billion to purchase, giving Sir Jim Ratcliffe control of the sporting operations of Manchester United. He was also responsible for INEOS exiting the Tottenham Hotspur sponsorship agreement this year. Sir Jim Ratcliffe was the richest person in the UK in 2018 with a total net worth of over £21 billion.

Tottenham Hotspur have won 10 matches in the 2024-2025 Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur have played 29 games in the 2024-2025 season of the Premier League. The club has managed to win 10 matches in the current season to date (18/03/2025), placing Tottenham Hotspur ahead of clubs like West Ham United and Everton. Tottenham Hotspur has earned 34 points in the Premier League tables to be one of the top 15 teams in the tournament.

James Maddison, the English midfielder, has been an integral aspect of Tottenham Hotspur this season. He wears the number 10 jersey in his team and motivates Tottenham Hotspur players to perform at their peak as one of two vice-captains. The 28-year-old footballer signed a contract with Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for a transfer fee of £40 million.

Before joining Tottenham Hotspur, James Maddison played for clubs like Leicester City, Norwich City, and Coventry City. In the present season of the Premier League, James Maddison appeared in 27 Premier League matches and scored 9 goals for his team. He is also known for creating amazing opportunities for his allies to strike goals on the football field.

Brennan Johnson is one of the youngest players in Tottenham Hotspur. He has maintained a firm grip on the ball by shooting at the goal more than 45 times this season. With 2 assists and 9 goals, Brennan Johnson has earned his place among the best strikers of Tottenham Hotspur.

Son Heung-min has driven Tottenham Hotspur to victory in dozens of Premier League matches. The South Korean footballer signed with Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. As the captain of his team, Son Heung-min has scored over 100 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in his career. He was the first Asian striker to win the Premier League Golden Boot award with 23 goals in a single season for Tottenham Hotspur during the 2021-2022 season.

Many teammates in Tottenham Hotspur have praised Son Heung-min for his scoring ability. He can shoot with both his feet effectively to give his team an advantage in Premier League matches. Son Heung-min has earned sponsorships from several international brands including Adidas, Burberry, and Calvin Klein. His association with top brands can be quite resourceful to land the next sponsorship deal for Tottenham Hotspur after the exit of INEOS.

Fulham beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0

In recent news, Fulham managed to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Craven Cottage stadium in London. More than 27,000 people attended the Premier League match on March 16, 2025. Fulham got past Tottenham Hotspur defenders to hit 4 shots on target during the match.

Neither of the two teams could conceive a goal in the first half of the match. Fulham forward player, Rodrigo Muniz was able to take the pass from Andreas Pereira to place the ball behind the nets in the 78th minute of the game. His teammate, Ryan Sessegnon extended the lead to 2-0 for Fulham in the 88th minute by smashing the goal to the top right corner of the goal post.

Despite their best attempts to score, Tottenham Hotspur strikers could not hit any goals. The win against Tottenham Hotspur increased Fulham's points to 45 in the Premier League leaderboard with 12 wins in the 2024-2025 season. Tottenham Hotspur need to score goals at any given chance that it gets to climb higher up the table.
