With Thomas Frank in through the door at Spurs, fans of the club are looking forward to the new season. When Spurs supporters aren't watching their new-look team in action, though, playing football games in the virtual world is enticing.
On the whole, fans tend to dip in and out of a variety of gaming releases. For example, some supporters favour products like Subway Surfers during a long away trip, others sample online slots like Huff N' More Puff in the week before the big game, and there are games like Candy Crush Saga that are also still thriving. In terms of football releases, though, there is also a plethora of top options to consider playing.
Be it through a smartphone device when you're on your way to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium or while waiting for the pre-game build-up at home from your sofa on your PlayStation 5, there are some fantastic football-themed games to session this season.
EA Sports FC 25 is booming right now
First up is arguably the best football game around today in EA Sports FC 25. While some fans will always prefer the good old days of FIFA, this top-notch facelift has still gone down a treat with the vast majority of the community. The latest instalment from the EA Sports FC series is excellent, with options like 5v5 Rush making it even more entertaining. Alongside the usual favourites, such as Ultimate Team, plus some new and improved graphics, EA Sports FC 25 is the best option for football fans with a console machine. It's superb.
Football Manager 2024 is still the best management sim
If you're keen to manage Spurs in an attempt to try and build on that special night in Bilbao, then Football Manager 2024 is still the best game to session here. Be it on mobile or on PC, the game is highly realistic and amazingly detailed. With the cancellation of FM25, fans are still playing FM24 and pulling off magical triumphs and major cup shocks. While managing Spurs is a challenge, delivering Premier League and Champions League success to the club is highly possible. Fail to get things right, though, and Daniel Levy could show you the exit door.
Pixel Cup Soccer - Ultimate Edition is great on PC
For PC gamers, while some of the aforementioned options are also accessible, we're going with Pixel Cup Soccer - Ultimate Edition here. This charming release with an isometric look takes players on a nostalgic dive, as they aim to tackle options like career mode. With fast-paced gameplay and a retro vibe, it's excellent.
While it's ultimately a subjective view to hold, many football fans seem to prefer eFootball to EA Sports FC 25, but only on mobile. For smartphone gamers, this wonderful football gaming package is mightily impressive, especially as it can be sampled on the go through an iOS or an Android device. The game has licensed players, fluent gameplay, even better graphics, and plenty of tactics to fine-tune. If you're keen to reach Division One or play against your fellow Spurs fans, eFootball simply has to be considered.
Mini Football is another smartphone favourite
Another popular mobile game among the football community, Mini Football's giant-headed players and simple gameplay makes it a top title right now. Alongside playing in matches against your online rivals, there are thousands of collectible items to earn, plus upgrades to your stadium, kits, and players to make. A title where the various formations you employ in matches also really matters, Mini Football is a top title on mobile.
