Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion 5-2
Kanu sent Cole down the left wing in the 3rd minute for the defender to
strike home a angled shot that left Hoult with no chance. Lauren added a
second goal in the 21st minute when he played a one-two with Kanu before
scoring from six yards. Three minutes later, Wiltord made it 3-0 when
Edu's pass left him unmarked with all the time in the world to score.
Dobie reduced the arrears in the 51st minute when Cole made a hash of a
clearance and Dobie was left to score from a relatively close range. Keown
should have been sent off after manhandling Dobie but evidently the
referee missed it. Shortly afterwards, Campbell made a two-footed tackle
on Marshall for which Campbell was booked. Wiltord extended Arsenal's lead
in the 77th minute when he fastened on Cole's cross to score. Roberts
reduced the arrears again in the 87th minute when he capitalised on an
error by Keown to score. Aladière had the last word for the Gunners when
he tapped home Wiltord's centre in the 90th minute.

Aston Villa v Manchester City 1-0
Vassell scored the only goal of the match in the 64th minute when
Hendrie's free-kick was only partially cleared and the striker needed no
second invitation to score. Earlier there had been a great deal of
frustration on the Villa bench as Peter Crouch wasted a hat-full of
chances. Kevin Keegan n was scathing about his side after the match as he
felt too many players did not show any resolve.
Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool 2-2
Dunn gave Blackburn the lead in the 16th minute when Duff centred the ball
to Dunn, who diverted the ball beyond Dudek. Murphy equalised for
Liverpool in the 31st minute when he scored with a crisp right footed
shot. Riise pushed Liverpool in front in the 77th minute when he looped a
header over Friedel. But Grabbi denied Liverpool all three points when he
equalised in the 83rd minute when he scored from yet another Dunn cross.
Graeme Sourness was then sent off for arguing with the referee after he
had accused Heskey of fouling one of his players.
Everton v Birmingham City 1-1
Birmingham were very unlucky not to win the match. John had put them ahead
from a penalty in the 50th minute after Stubbs had sent John flying.
Birmingham looked to have won the match until Cunningham conceded an own
goal in the 90th minute.
Fulham v West Ham United P-P
This match was postponed because of Fulham's Inter Toto Cup Final.
Leeds United v Sunderland 0-1
McAteer snatched the points for Sunderland in the 46th minute when Butler
centred the ball from the left for Phillips, the only Sunderland striker,
to head the ball down for McAteer to thump home, Leeds were aggrieved they
were not awarded a penalty after Viduka was sent flying by Michael Gray in
the 77th minute.
Manchester United v Middlesbrough P-P
Newcastle United v Bolton Wanderers P-P
The above two fixtures were postponed as the Champions' League qualifiers
took precedence.
Southampton v Chelsea 1-1
Fernandes sent Chris Marsden down the wing in the 51st minute and Babyaro
failed to cut out the ball. Fernandes took advantage of the error to thump
the ball home. Lampard equalised in the 80th minute after he slipped past
Svensson to score with a delightful chip over Paul Jones.
