Good week for ex-Spurs players
It was a good week for former Spurs players, not only in the Premier League, but also in other spheres of the English football system.
In the Premier League, Luke Young was not the only ex-Spurs player to score, as Noe Pamarot scored a cracking opener in Portsmouth's 4-1 annihilation of Newcastle.
At Craven Cottage, Simon Davies has found his best form since leaving Spurs, and on Saturday, he also scored the opener for Fulham, as they beat Reading 3-1. Davies was also the creator for Fulham's second and third goals, winning the man of the match award.
In the Championship, Mark Yeates was the provider for Johnnie Jackson's header that gave Colchester a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester.
Finally, in the Blue Square (Conference) Premier League, former Spur and recently Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor has taken over from Mark Stimson as Stevenage's manager. Stevenage won 2-0 at Northwich on Saturday, and ex-Spurs Junior, Stuart Lewis opened the scoring in that game too. Ronnie Henry continues to do well at Broadhall Way, but he was a substitute for this win, which took Stevenage to third place in their table.
On an occasional basis, Spurs Odyssey will continue to report on the achievements of former staff, but of course our priority is to see our team making progress up the Premier League table, and soon!
