Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2007-2008 - Match 17

In association with Squadgod

‘3 AND IN’ – 17th December 2007

Quotes

1. “In time we're going to get to the stage - whether it's two years, three or four years - that Fabio might go and we've got to have a ready-made replacement for him and it's got to be English." - Anyone else think Paul Ince sees himself as future England manager?!?

2. “I don't think it will be sexy football (under Capello)" - Martin Keown yearns for the old days, when he, Tony Adams, Gazza, and the Nevilles made the England team easy on the eye.

3. “The Premiership isn't about doing well for 90 minutes, you have to do well for 92 minutes" - Lawrie Sanchez bemoans another late defeat. (N.B. Put some money on Wigan beating Fulham in the 93rd minute next Saturday).

Facts

1. Fulham haven't won an away game in the Premier League since September 9th 2006, when they won 1-2 against Newcastle at St. James' Park. That's over a year, and a whopping 25 away games without a win. ( Ed: They come to Tottenham on Boxing Day!)

2. One team who don't have a problem picking up points when not in their own back yard, is Portsmouth. They currently have the best away form in the Premier League - W 6, D 1, L 1. (Ed; Didn't do them any good on Saturday though, eh?)

3. Roque Santa Cruz is the first person to score a Premier League hat-trick and still be on the losing side, since Dwight Yorke back in 1996. Yorke was playing for Villa at the time, and they lost 4-3 to Kevin Keegan's Newcastle. The smiling assassin actually scored a forth goal, but it was ruled offside
