Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2008-2009 - Match 1
After the pre-season Spurs' optimism, last Saturday's result led to much despondency on message boards and discussion lists.

My good friend David Kingsley provided the following positive antidote to this "one-match-depression-syndrome":-

For all you 'Moaning Minnies', let's look at the top 10 positives from a Spurs prospective:

1) We're nowhere near the relegation zone (14th position).
2) We're only 3 points behind both Chelski and Ars* and still have to play them both at home.
3) We're only ONE point behind Manure and still have to play them at home.
4) We're a full SIX places above Portsmouth who have an inferior goal difference (many people picked them for an UEFA cup place).
5) We've still got to play ALL the teams below us twice more this season.
6) We still have 19 home games to play in the league
7) We're through to the THIRD round of the League Cup (most teams haven't even played in the second round yet).
8) We're through to the First Round proper of the UEFA cup (both Villa and Citeh haven't achieved that yet).
9) We're still in the FA cup.
10) The transfer window still has two weeks to go.

Keep your chins up lads.
David
P.S - I can add a further positive factor about last Saturday's game. Spurs had 65% of the possession.
