Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2008-2009 - Match 11

Positions at the top of the table changed just once this week-end, when Chelsea thrashed Sunderland to overhaul Liverpool before they played Spurs on Saturday evening. Spurs got a fantastic three points to conclude "Harry's Big Week", and to claw their way off the bottom of the pile.

Sadly, the next day, Bolton managed to beat the team from "Middle Eastlands", where Spurs must go next Sunday. That left Newcaastle to beat Villa, thanks to two goals from Obafemi Martins, and Spurs were back on the bottom of the table by the end of the week-end's fixtures.

We must be thankful for last week though, as the seven point tally has put us right back in touch with most of the Premier League. We are only 6 points below 7th placed Everton, who have not exactly been setting the town alight so far this season. If we win on Sunday at Eastlands, (and that is no longer beyond the bounds of possibility), then we will be just one point below the richest club in the world, who have yet to spend their money but have to wait till January to try and add more riches to their side.

Just imagine if we had got the number of points from the Arsenal and Liverpool games that most people anticipated (that's nil points folks), and we would have been a little adrift at the bottom. As it is we are only two wins from the top half, and I'm backing Harry to get those wins before the end of November.

It's good to be a Spur - again!

P.S - This time last year we had two less points and were in 18th place after the same number of games.
