Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2008-2009 - Match 9
Spurs' much welcomed first win of the season was our first in the Premier League since May 3rd, when we beat Reading (away) 1-0.

It was our first home league win for 7 months, (Portsmouth (Home) - 2-0)and this was also the last time we scored two goals in a League game (16 league games). So Harry Redknapp was the manager of the side against whom we last scored two league goals!

We conceded first in all our other league games this season, except in the 0-0 against Wigan.

This was only our fourth home league win of 2008, in 14 games.

Darren Bent is our top scorer, with 4 league goals and one UEFA Cup goal.

Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is now our only ever-present player in 13 games this season.

Gareth Bale, who was supended for this game has still to start a league game for Spurs, which we have won. Let's hope he loses that record on Wednesday!
