Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premiership Season
for 2009-2010 - Match 10

Lennon was your Spurs man of the match

This week's exclusive "Spursometer" survey has now been closed after around 100 votes have been cast in each of the categories. Since introducing audience participation I have found that I used to adopt a middle line as the readers tend to be harder and more generous than me, when warranted. For example, readers did not hesititate to be scathing about our score ratio on Saturday!

It is ironic and frustrating that Aaron Lennon was very clearly voted as Spurs' best player, as we had to do without him for that last ten minutes in which the game was ultimately lost. Thus Stoke won a game at White Hart Lane for the first time since 1975. Mind you, this was only the twelfth such meeting in those 34 years.

Despite the blip, we are still a top four side after ten games, and the old adage has always been to look at the table after 10 games when teams should have found their true level. Sadly we will go to The Emirates below the home side on goal difference (and they have a game in hand), and with reduced confidence if Lennon is not fit, Defoe suspended, and we have worries about the fitness of other key players such as Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Luka Modric.

The form of Robbie Keane is a worry for most Spurs fans, and he has been graded remarkably poorly on too many occasions. Look out for the October form guide next week.
