Spurs win over Arsenal came on the 19th anniversary of St Hotspurs Day and two days before the 100th anniversary of the first Spurs Arsenal game at WHL on April 16, 1910 which was drawn 1-1.
It was our first league win against Arsenal since Nov 7, 1999 when Steffen Iversen and Tim Sherwood scored to give Tottenham a 2-1 win. It was our first league win in 21 league games against Arsenal and first win over them in ten home league games.
Harry Redknapp’s record against Arsenal before last night was two wins in 31 games and one win in 25 against Arsene Wenger.
Danny Rose scored on his league debut.
Gareth Bale scored three times in his first five games but has not scored since then in 65 games. It was his first goal since Sep 26, 2007. Two of his four goals have been against Arsenal.
Rose and Bale had not scored before this season. They became the 19th and 20th players to score for Spurs this season, 19 of whom have scored in the league.
In fifteen league games this season which Spurs have led at half time they have won every time.
