Sandro man of the match again!
Spurs' 22 year old Brazilian midfielder Sandro has pipped his compatriot Heurelho Gomes for another man of the match award in his recent run of form that has seen him consistently get high marks and win many plaudits from fans and observers alike. Sandro must surely be a shoe-in for tomorrow night's game in The Bernabeu, having been such a mainstay in our last Champions League success against A.C. Milan.
Your comments regarding Sandro included the following:-
"Sandro has been the MOTM again. Never stopped going. Great energy and skills."
"Sandro is developing to become a Spurs Super star! My MOTM"
"Give me a team of 11 Sandros and Modric (and our goalie today) and I'll be happy."
Of great concern to Spurs fans though is the form of Jermain Defoe who has been getting too many low marks these days, managing just 4.1 in the Wigan game. Our score ratio quite naturally was poor. Not srprising after the third consecutive 0-0!
Harry Redknapp's team selection and strategy received wide criticism, and no doubt there was plenty of consideration given by the manager regarding the crucial game in Madrid:-
"Harry lost this game before a ball was kicked, and all 5000 of us knew it. His team selection was incomprehensible, it was as if he didn't want to win the game. No width, no creativity, VDV in the wrong position, truly awful team selection I can only hope that it was done with one eye on Madrid."
"Harry reacted too late. He should have added width to the game at HT. We played with 4 in the middle of the park. Our style is not to attack through the middle"
The odds on Spurs winning another place in the top four are getting longer and longer, but we do still have to play Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal, and I for one have not yet given up hope.
