Kaboul edges your man of the match vote
Spurs Odyssey maintains a Premier League Review after every Premier League game, and that has been one of the features of the site for the last 9 seasons, meaning that you could trawl through our archives and find out the results and positions of every Premier League team since the start of the 2001-02 season. Also in those archives you can find match reports on Spurs matches since the 1998-99 season.
We don't always carry additional information other than the week's results and table, but I thought it would make a change to refer to your gradings on this week's spursometer
Having spent over a month out of action, Younes Kaboul (who was an unused substitute at the San Siro last week) made such an impressive come-back against Everton that you made him your man of the match. It was close, with Rafael van der Vaart, Luka Modric and Benoit Assou-Ekotto breathing down Kaboul's neck. Kaboul has now played only his fourth game of Spurs' 15 game campaign to date, but he has shown consistency when he has taken part. With the ongoing problems regarding Ledley King, and Michael Dawson's prolonged absence, Kaboul is sure to see plenty of action in the forthcoming busy time. After Old Trafford on Saturday, we have 7 games to negotiate in November. Maybe we should be grateful to be out of the Carling Cup!
This week, the Spursometer reflects the overall assessments of 180 contributors, giving a decent reading of how the team, and individuals performed. I also seek views in the survey that feeds the "Spursometer" regarding the manager's tactics, team selection and substitutions, along with the invitation to grade the referee. Unsurprisingly, this week, Mr. Michael Jones drew a very low mark, attaining only 3.3 out of a possible 10. This is one of the worst, if not the worst marks that a refere has received by voters, who are not inclined to be too favourable towards the officials in the first place. However, Mr. Jones also officiated in our game against Wolves this season, and received twice as many marks on that occasion, so he must have done a lot wrong on Saturday. Most of us clearly felt that he allowed too much of the physical and cynical by Everton, and showed inconsistency regarding his decisions to caution players or not. The fact that he has previously received a reasonable grade by Spurs fans indicates that there is a reason for the extremely low mark. Hopefully, Mr. Jones' assessors will give him some feedback too.
