Here's a tip for AVB

At the kick-off, why not try moving the ball forwards? If necessary, adopt rugby tactics and aim for the opposition touch in their half. At least then we can defend a throw in their territory, and avoid ceding ground and initiative from the start of a game! That would also prevent going one down in 14 seconds.

Here is a selection of your comments after the game, which resulted in the lowest grades ever on the spursometer

"Disgusted! AVB must go!!!!!!"
"The lack of effort at times was frightening from a Spurs angle. Too many players had an off game at the same time. Even the normally reliable Lloris was at fault, so this puts things in perspective."
"Worst performance by a country mile. Kaboul and Lamela coming into the starting team at this venue was suicide. This was men against boys. We need a proper coach now."
"I believe that about 70% of the time long kicks from the keeper result in the ball going to the opposition. Why then do we so often get ourselves in situations where we end up passing back to Lloris and giving him no option but to kick long?"
"I NEVER give a 1 and am critical of those who seem to give such low scores regularly in the poll. Today, however, Spurs were terrible defensively and City looked like scoring with every attack - it could have been double figures if City had applied themselves. We, on the other hand, never looked like scoring! COYS!"
"Not many people poo poohed his starting XI" (Me included)
"No denying it-my team. But the midfield play was a shambles (save Sandro).Again, Paulinho needs to learn to play off Sandro. And the defence was very uncharacteristically undone. It may be a question of speed (Aguero, Navas), as our back line is not quick."

"At least we saw 4-4-2 for the first time this season. Fat lot of good it did. While we play in this sideways-backwards style of negative football I cannot see how we are going to improve. I can take a pasting when we at least try. Yesterday we didn't do that. Our forwards, against a dodgy defence, could not play through them; their forwards against 'one of the best defences in the league' played through ours at will. AVB's tactics require a radical re-think towards positive play."

There were many more comments, but I have tried to select a representative sample.

We cannot use the term "man of the match" for any Spurs player, but Sandro was awarded the highest mark. Referee Howard Webb received the highest praise of any participant in the survey, which in itself is very unusual.

Thanks as always to those who took part in the survey.
