Worst referee ever?
Referee Andre Marriner got a vote of 2.8, which officially makes him the worst referee (or at least leader of the team officials) this season. The grade by over 200 Spurs Odyssey voters puts him in the running to be voted our worst referee for two consecutive seasons.
The last Spurs game for Mr. Marriner was the last home game of last season, when he incorrectly denied Gareth Bale a first half penalty, and booked the former Spurs star for simulation.
In his last 7 games in charge of Spurs games, Mr. Marriner has managed an average mark of less than 5 out of 10, and less than 3 out of 10 on three of those occasions. Perhaps referees' boss Mike Riley ought to be having a closer look at Andre Marriner, who has too often been all at sea when officiating for Spurs. He could just be the worst referee ever.
No-one in their right mind denies that City were by far the better team at White Hart Lane, but all too often, Spurs are just not getting a fair crack of the whip from officials.
Hugo Lloris was voted Spurs' best player in this game.
P.S - Danny Rose's red card was rescinded on appeal to the FA.
