In praise of Dawson, Soldado and Dowd!
Spurs captain Michael Dawson was voted equal man of the match (with Roberto Soldado), by the 200+ voters who took part in the Cardiff post-match survey.
It was Dawson's first such vote since 11th April last year when we lost to Basel in a penalty shoot-out in the Europa League quarter-final.
Soldado finished level with Dawson, and was man of the match for the first time since he scored a hat-trick against Anzhi on 12th December. That was Soldado's only other man of the match vote.
Spurs have won their last six matches now with Phil Dowd in charge, and are unbeaten in the last 8 such games. Mr. Dowd has been in charge of us 14 times now in the last four years, and ranks highest of those referees we have seen most often. I remember being un-impressed by this man when we first saw him in October 2001 at Tranmere. Now I think he is one of the best in our league.
