14th clean sheet for Dawson
It is now mathematically impossible for us to reach this season's top four, despite the fact we can match last season's record points tally of 72. Mind you, that only got us fifth place too, didn't it?
On the other hand, four points from our remaining two games (away to West Ham and home to ailing Aston Villa) will be enough to guarantee us Europa League football.
With two, or in some cases three games remaining, the end of the season remains exciting from the perspective of the Premier League as a whole, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City possibly going into the last day with a chance of the title.
The biggest crunch game comes on Saturday tea-time, when Everton play Man City, who need to win all three of their games to win the title they won two years ago. If Everton slip up, they face Hull away on the last day. Spurs could still finish fifth.
All that means nothing of course to a host of Spurs fans disappointed with the failure to qualify for Champions League football, after spending £100 million last summer.
Hugo Lloris was once again your man of the match, with skipper Michael Dawson close behind him on his return to the fold. It's only the fifth time "Daws" has scored 7 or more in 35 starts this season. On the other hand we have managed 14 clean sheets in all the games Dawson has started this season. Three of those came in Europa League matches.
There were not too many comments this week, which suggests that end of season apathy is creeping in. Hopefully we will have some excitement yet in our remaining two games.
