Kaboul's best since we beat Arsenal away?
Younes Kaboul won your man of the match vote this week in the game against Arsenal, winning an 8.5 grading, following some 250 responses on the spursometer.
This was Kaboul's first man of the match win since April 2012 in a season, when he was voted man of the match no less than 5 times, having perhaps his best season in his time at Tottenham. In that 2011-12 season, Kaboul was actually runner-up to Scott Parker in our player of the season grades.
Kaboul's masterful defensivee showing at The Emirates, was arguably his vest for Spurs since we beat Arsenal on their ground in November 2010, when he scored the winning goal. Amongst the quotes received, which were pertinent to Kaboul were the following:-
"Kaboul came pretty close to achieving a perfect ten for me. Outstanding, and Lloris wasn't too far behind."
"Resolute defending, 2 words you wouldn't normally see when talking about Spurs!"
"3 Spurs players were supreme.Lloris,Kaboul, and Rose"
"Outstanding performance from Kaboul who appears back to his best."
Referee Michael Oliver drew more comments than is usual for a refereeing performance, which has drawn criticism from several pundits and commentators too, especially regarding his booking of Nacer Chadli for cupping his ears in sight of the Arsenal fans. This was one of my favourite comments:-
"Mr. Yellow Peril. Ball boys were lucky to avoid a card. It was as if a kid of 13 was officiating. These blokes and their oppos with flags are doing their best to ruin our spectacle"
Thanks for all votes and comments received.
