Unpredictable? I'll say!
How many of this week-end's Premier League results did you predict correctly? Like many people, and the media, I found match 15's scores impossible to predict, and managed to get two results out of 10 correct. Those were Watford to beat Norwich, and (I am almost ashamed to mention it) Sunderland to lose at the wrong end of Seven Sisters Road.
Stoke astounded top of the table Man City with two goals and some scintillating play in the first fifteen minutes. Bournemouth got a shock victory at Stamford Bridge (why can't WE do that?), and Newcastle showed something they have been missing against Liverpool. That was fight, passion, and effort. I hope not to see so much of that next Sunday at White Hart Lane.
Leicester continue to shine, and we will get a close look at them in January now we have drawn them at home in the third round of the FA Cup. We will play "The Foxes" twice in four, five or six days (that will be decided by the TV companies). Next Monday night's game at home to Chelsea could be a belter for Leicester fans.
Overall, the results this week did Spurs no harm whatsoever. Our fifth place has not been threatened, and we still have a three point gap and a superior goal difference to ensure we will be there come what may next Sunday. It's up to Mauricio Pochettino's team to press on now we've come through another tricky game at The Hawthorns. My prediction of a win for Spurs proved over-optimistic and inaccurate like most of my attempts to look in the crystal ball. It's a good job I am not a betting man!
Hugo Lloris won the Spurs Odyssey man of the match vote this week. No doubt many were influenced by that magnificent close range save from Olsson.
