It turns out Harry Kane is not perfect!
In my match report for Norwich, I wrote "To the best of my knowledge, Kane has a 100% penalty conversion record in his still relatively short Spurs first team career."
Several correspondents have put me right on this subject, and my good friend Declan Mulcahy offered this most comprehensive detail:-
"Kane missed the first two penalties he took and has missed a third since then. He scored from the rebound on the last one but it still counts as a missed penalty.
The games were:-
August 2011 Hearts (h) Europa League saved by goalkeeper.
August 2014 Limassol (h) Europa League saved by goalkeeper
February 2015 West Ham (h) Premier League saved by goalkeeper, scored from rebound"
So there you have it. Harry is not perfect after all, but he has scored 5 times out of 5 this season, and twice last season. His record this season is 100%!
Harry Kane was your man of the match at Norwich and for the fifth time this season. That slow start has long since been forgotten, as Harry has now hit 15 Premier League goals so far this season, and 18 in all competitions. Furthermore, Harry has scored 16 goals in his last 22 games. He's no one season wonder, is he?
Provided we do our job on Saturday and beat Watford at home, then we are bound to gain points upon either or both of Leicester and Man City, who play each other on Saturday lunch-time. A draw in that game would probably be best for us, and if we win, and Leicester win or draw, we will go second.
