Spurs Odyssey Reviews the Premier League Season
for 2017-2018 - Matchday Two

Look on the bright side!

When did Harry Kane ever have more bookings in a season than goals in his still short Premier league career? Well, that is the case at present, as the 24 year old Golden Boot holder has collected a yellow card in each of his first two games, but no goals. This has not been for want of trying, as Harry's efforts were particularly recognised by Spurs Odyssey voters in the Chelsea game, in which he did hit the post, and also had Courtois flummoxed with one of his other shots on goal. Harry has scored 78 Premier league goals in 115 games, and Wayne Rooney this week celebrated his 200th such goal after 462 games. The only other player to score 200 Premier League goals was Alan Shearer, who scored 260 goals in 441 Premier League games.

Harry's first target of course is to hit his 100th club goal for Spurs. Hopefully that will come next week against Burnley to set him on his path to score his first Premier league century.

As for the Chelsea game, Mousa Dembele was voted your Spurs man of the match by a margin, whereas the normally reliable Lloris and Wanyama scored well below average.

Spurs need to put this game behind them and get back to points accumulation when Burnley come to town. Look on the bright side! We are still the top team in London, above Arsenal and Chelsea, and West Ham are bottom. what's not to like?
