Eriksen wins 3-way fight
After our best performance so far this season, and our fourth consecutive Premier League away win, it was a close-run fight between Christian Eriksen, Ben Davies and Harry Kane for man of the match at Goodison Park. In the end Eriksen edged Harry out with Ben Davies a valiant third. Davies, who scored in consecutive games in two of those away wins has been described as the Fantasy Football player's dream so far this season, with a goal, assists and two clean sheets counting in his favour. When fit, Danny Rose is going to have to fight his way back into the team, but with our full-backs (or should that be wing-backs from now on?) historically being rotated more than other positions, Danny won't have to wait long for a game. The sooner he is fit, the better. We have seven games this month, and there will be no let-up in our programme this side of Christmas, that's for sure.
Harry Kane scored his 100th and 101st club goals, and now has 80 Premier League goals to his name at the age of 24. Harry has the clear potential to beat the esteemed records of some of his Spurs predecessors in the goal-scoring table, and by the end of this season he ought to be ninth in the list of 17 players with over 100 Spurs goals to their name. To his credit Harry, under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, is always looking for progress. He's a truly great role model for young players, which sadly cannot be said these days of Wayne Rooney.
There is so much to be said about our team after this match, including the impressive full match debut of Davinson Sanchez, and a fine performance by Moussa Sissoko. Perhaps I can point you in this direction:-
This week, I was invited to take part in the very first LastWordOnSpurs podcast, which you can listen to at https://audioboom.com/posts/6290812-harry-s-hundred. We discussed the Everton game, and tomorrow's match against Borussia Dortmund. I am sure you would find this programme a good listen.
