The form guide for neither team makes pretty reading. Fulham have managed just 1 win in 6, and Spurs scraped two at home against poor opposition. Spurs still seek three points to relax this season, whilst Fulham would go above us with a win, and cause us more pain, with a further slide down the table.
Only 750 Spurs season ticket holders will be present at Craven Cottage this Sunday to give vocal support, due to the trouble at the League Cup game in November. The rest of you will have to cheer us on watching Sky TV!
Fulham try to play pretty football, with little physical stuff, so maybe Spurs will be able to dictate the play more than they have for a long time. In fact the 4-0 home victory over Fulham last December, was probably our bext league performance of the season. That was on the day when Les Ferdinand won £10,000 for the 10,000th Premiership goal.
I wait for team confirmation, but my understanding at the time of writing is that both Les Ferdinand and Teddy Sheringham will be suspended. Therefore we can expect Rebrov and Iversen to be up front. Sergei has scored in both our games against this opposition this season. Mauricio Taricco will also be missing, so we can expect to see Simon Davies at right wing-back.
In the circumstances, the anticipated team is:- Sullivan; King, Richards, Gardner; Davies, Anderton, Sherwood, Poyet, Ziege; Rebrov, Iversen. However, Chris Perry will be upset to be left out, and maybe Richards will not be fit enough. I would be happy for Perry to keep his place, even if Deano is fit, as I believe he needs to regain his form before returning to the side.
