The last time the Champions Elect lost a Premiership Fixture was on 4th May last year when Leeds were the victors by 3 goals to 2. Things were different last week, when Leeds (despite playing well at times) were simply thrashed 5-0.
There is no need for me to say any more about our opponents, as their success has been well-documented.
No Spurs fan in his/her right mind expects to get even a point out of this game, to be televised live to Sky viewers and no doubt around the world. If you go to the Official website, you are invited to submit an e-mail, with the possibility that yours, if considered amongst the best, will be read out to "the lads" before the game. This is what I submitted:-
"To those lucky enough to be chosen to represent the Mighty Tottenham Hotspur Football Club against the Champions Elect:-
You nearly beat them at Highbury, so there's no reason why you can't match them today. Don't make us wait till the Blackburn or Wolves games to secure Premiership status. Make us go home happy today! Make us Proud again to be loyal Spurs fans!
Play with fire! Play with fight! Play with Passion!
TO DARE IS TO DO!
COME ON YOU SPURS!"
