Spurs are just one of many clubs that Fulham have yet to beat away in the Premiership. In my view this is unlikely to be witnessed this week, and like Brian, I tend to think that the Fulham dream is fading away, as Mr. Al Fayed prefers to base himself in Switzerland, and has not invested the sort of sum needed to ensure they stay in the top flight.
Mr. Al Fayed has now been well and truly trumped by his West London neighbours, of which we should say as little as possible for fear of getting too upset!
Top players have left or are going, although perhaps Sean Davis will now wait till January for a move. I understand that Marlet has gone to France on loan for this season. The Cottagers do still have players to excite, such as Malbranque, Sava (who played for the reserves against Spurs on Tuesday), and even Boa Morte on his day.
I have to confess I cannot get too excited about these opponents, although we failed to despatch them in February, partly thanks to an appalling miss by Acimovic, dubbed "Amissovic" ever since! His gaffe may even have eclipsed the famous Ronnie Rosenthal miss in front of goal for Liverpool about 10 years ago.
Acimovic will be lucky to make the bench, as perhaps the only change may see Darren Anderton take the place of Simon Davies, who has not been in the best of form this year.
A good win for Spurs will definitely make it a good start to the season, and I go along with Brian, predicting a 3-0 victory
