Debutant Jamie O'Hara had everything to do with Spurs winning goal It's a genuine shame that Jermain Defoe will not be permitted to play against Spurs tomorrow, when Portsmouth come to town. It has been confirmed that because Jermain's initial deal with Portsmouth was a loan, and only later ratified as a full transfer, he cannot play in this game. Defoe would have had a warm reception, but on balance, maybe we should all be glad he will be absent, as he would surely have scored. Defoe once again scored when making a debut, and has scored 6 in 6 games for his new side, including a great goal last week against Aston Villa.

Jermain Defoe made his Spurs debut on 7th February, 2004, and opened the scoring in an exciting 4-3 win, won only in the 89th minute, when the ball went in off Gus Poyet's knee. Defoe also scored for us against Portsmouth in last season's corresponding game, which we won 2-1.

In this season's away game, Spurs obtained their first away win in the Premier League of this season with a fine performance and a 1-0 win, thanks to Berbatov's goal, and the impact of debutant, Jamie O'Hara. Whether O'Hara gets a game tomorrow is another question, but just three days after that hard and spectacular Chelsea game, it is quite likely that Ramos will give him a chance.

The centre-half that must not be named has been described as doubtful, but many would prefer him to play, as he seems to suffer as a result of the continuing baiting he gets seven years after his betrayal of those who once loved him so much.

Portsmouth are now favourites to win this season's FA Cup, which would be a fantastic achievement for a club that only recently returned to the big time, and has been without a trophy for so many years. They are also sixth, and Harry Redknapp will want to ensure that they continue to battle for Europe on two fronts.

I suspect that Spurs fans may be in for another goal-feast, and of course hope that Spurs come out on top.
