Spurs travelled to Munich for the last game of the group in third place needing to better the result of second placed Red Star. Bayern were clear at the top needing just a point to make sure of winning the group. Red Star travelled to Athens to play winless Olympiacos a point clear of Spurs. While the first team game was a dead rubber the loss of Parrott and Skipp to the first team could have made the differnce to this U-19 team. The Campus was easy to get to from the centre of Munich lying not that far from the Allianz Arena in the suburbs which saw the temperature drop to just over freezing.

Spurs lined up with Oluwayemi in goal behind the regular pairing of Walcott and Binks with Lyons-Foster at right back and Cirkin on the left. Bowden anchored the midfield with Oakley-Boothe and White ahead of him. They were flanked by Markanday on the right and thankfully Bennett on the left in support of Richards up front.

Spurs kicked off the first half attacking the North end in a match that was tight as both sides settled into a fast passing game that used the whole pitch. There was good approach work by both sides but the defences were solid and the first goal was going to be important. That goal went to the home side when they won a corner on the right. Daniliuc got across to head in at the near post with the first real chance of the game.

Spurs tried to respond with Markanday playing in Bennett on the left to curl an effort wide of the far post. Bowden played in Markanday to cut inside but drove wide of the far post. Binks got the only booking of the match when he bundled Musiala over. Before the break Bennett had another effort that was wide.

There were no changes for the start of the second half which saw Bayern become a little more direct with Booth drawing a save from Oluwayemi. Spurs then conceded a free kick on the left which saw Arrey-Mbi have a free header to double the hosts lead. That two goal margin led to Bayern to open up the game as Spurs had to push forward more.

Oluwayemi saved from Johansson at his near post before making a second save from the same player when he shot from the edge of the area. When Bowden went down with an injury Bayern made the first of their changes but the game was restarted before the Spurs captain could be replaced so had to play for three minutes before the next break in play to the annoyance of the Spurs bench.

When the change was made Maghoma came on in midfield with White dropping to anchor the midfield and Oakley-Boothe having the captain's armband. Spurs at the same time replaced Markanday with Pochettino on the right.

Cirkin linked with Bennett down the left for the wideman to fire wide. Following a corner Oakley-Boothe crossed to Binks at the far post but his header was wide. Spurs were pressing well at this stage with White playing in Bennett to draw a save for a corner and Pochettino also won a corner when Mayor tipped his effort away. Bayern then delivered the killer blow when two subs combined to score. Tillman got down the left and cut the ball back for Stiller to strike from the edge of the area that was in the net before Oluwayemi could react.

Spurs made their last two changes with Robson replacing Richards and after Oluwayemi touched Cuni's effort onto the post Muir replaced Lyons-Foster at right back. Tillman fired over and had a header wide from a Arrey-Mbi cross before the final whistle.

It was always a big ask for Spurs to get through to the next round and Red Star beat Olympiacos 1-0 anyway to leave Spurs in third place to end their participation in the competition. Bayern Munich go through to the knockout rounds with Red Star having to go into the play-offs while Spurs return to the Premier League (2) with a break before they travel to Leicester City on the 21st December. They may take part in a tournament over the Christmas break usually in the Far East, but I have not heard of any.
