Performance of the season (so far) by Parker
Judging by the 274 responses we got to this week's post-match survey, Scott Parker was a very worthy recipient of all the plaudits he has received, as a result of his performance against Queens Park Rangers. Scott was the SKY man of the match, and you also voted him the Spurs Odyssey man of the match, with the highest individual mark awarded so far this season - a whopping 8.8 out of 10. No less than 60% of voters (163 people) gave Parker 9 out of 10. There have been a number of Spurs fans who have whole-heartedly withdrawn their negativity about the signing of this 31 year old former West Ham player. Plenty of others have regretted that we didn't get him when Glenn Hoddle tried to sign him in 2003, when Parker went instead to Chelsea.
Parker and Adebayor have played only in the 7 Premier League games since their signings were finalised in the last week of August, and they have yet to taste defeat in Spurs' colours. Long may that situation continue too. Ledley King has also not tasted Premier League defeat in a game he has started since August last year. (Wigan at home)
Sunday's goal-scorers Gareth Bale and Rafa van der Vaart also scored over 8 on Sunday, and the overall team performance was judged the best since we beat Liverpool 4-0 on September 18th. Manager Harry Redknapp's performance was also judged the best since that Liverpool game. Was that Harry's "best team"? I wonder.
Sunday's win gave Harry Redknapp his 200th Premier League point for Spurs, and at an average of 1.74 points per game, he is doing better than at any time in his managerial career in the Premier League.
Spurs have equalled their previous best Premier League points tally of 19 points after 9 games (achieved two years ago, when we qualified for the Champion s League), and if we get any points at Craven Cottage next Sunday, we will have our best ever 10 game points total.
Rafa van der Vaart now has the best strike rate of any Spurs player in the Premier League era, with 19 goals in 36 matches at a rate of 1.89 matches per goal, ahead of Jurgen Klinsmann (29 in 56 matches) and Emmanuel Adebayor. Adebayor hasn't scored though since that Liverpool game and could do with another goal soon.
Referee Howard Webb achieved his best score since Spurs Odyssey has been registering referee's scores, and it is his best mark in 5 matches in charge of a Spurs game since March 2010. Our game was only the fourth so far in this year's Premier League where no player was booked.
Spurs are also now unbeaten at home in a London Derby league match in their last 17 games. The last such defeat was in September 2007, at home to Arsenal. See our recent league derby record here
