Beauty and "The Beast"!
Sandro was your Spurs man of the match on Sunday and it wasn't just for his cracking goal either! Sandro has now been voted the best Spurs player in his last three matches, and has now started 10 of our 22 games so far this season.
Sandro has been a real favourite with Spurs fans since his debut, and he was in good spirits after Sunday's game, confusing Spurs fans waiting as the players departed, as it turned out his brother was visiting and "stood in" for the Spurs star.
Sandro has only scored three goals for Spurs so far. They have all been scored in London and the last one was a year ago, exactly to the day. It was the goal which sparked a 3-0 win for Spurs at Craven Cottage, so more of that tomorrow would go down very well, thank you very much.
Sandro's debut goal did not lead to a result for Spurs, as we lost 2-1 at Stamford Bridge in April, 2011, but that was the game where referee Andre Marriner awarded Frank Lampard a goal, when Gomes held the ball literally on the line.
This comment by Spurs Odyssey member Joe Cane just about sums it up for me:- "A much improved performance, probably our best of the season. Great intensity and generally unlucky not to win. Massive performance by Sandro who looked almost back to his best and ably supported by Dembele, Walker & Chiriches. Lennon also played extremely well for an hour terrorising Evra."
Let's hope this is the shape of things to come.
