After this game, I hope to be saying .......

.......Mind the gap!

We all know the particular importance of tomorrow's North London Derby, and that a Spurs win would give us a crucial seven point gap above Arsenal.

Let us not dwell upon the fact that we have lost our last two games against Arsenal by the horrible scoreline of 5-2. Let us not dwell either upon the fact that in November's game at The Emirates, former Arsenal player Emmanuel Adebayor gave us an early lead with his tenth minute goal; then effectively lost us the game by getting himself sent off after only 17 minutes.

Let us not dwell upon the fact that Adebayor scored his first Spurs goal of the season in that game, and that he has since scored only two more goals, against Panathinaikos, and Reading. Arguably, Adebayor lost so much support from Spurs fans following the events of 17th November. Adebayor had such a great season for us last year, but in 22 appearances (6 as substitute) so far this season, he has consistently scored lowly in the post-match Spursometer. Adebayor was our worst rated player after the West Ham game, scoring only just over half as well as man of the match Gareth Bale. Many fans could not forgive his miss in front of goal, following the rebound of Gylfi Sigurdsson's shot off the post into his path.

Let us not dwell on the fact that despite all the angst over Arsenal's lack of a trophy for 8 years, they have won seven trophies in the Wenger years, including two Premier League and FA Cup doubles, while we have won just two League Cup finals.

Let us not dwell upon the fact that in the Wenger years, we have yet to finish above Arsenal in the league.

Let us not dwell upon the fact that in the Premier League years we have won just 8 and lost 16 games against Arsenal.

Let us not dwell upon the fact that despite attracting so many negative headlines this season (defeat to Bradford in the League Cup, defeat to Blackburn in the FA Cup at home, likely Champions League exit against Bayern Munich, Wenger's recent crackpot press conference), Arsenal's recent league form has been good, with two defeats in their last 12 games to Man City and Chelsea.

No! Let us instead dwell on the positive!

Four of Arsenal's last six league games have been at home, and they struggled to beat both Stoke and Aston Villa in their most recent home games. Of their remaining 11 games, 6 will be away. After us they play Swansea, West Brom, Fulham, QPR and Newcastle away. They have yet to face Everton and Man Utd at home. Two of their last three games will be against teams struggling with relegation.

Spurs' recent league form stands up against that of the best teams in the league. We are on an unbeaten run of 11 games, and would create a new Premier League record (for us) if we manage to make that a twelfth unbeaten game tomorrow.

We do have Gareth Bale in the form of his life. Neither of Arsenal's first choice full backs are available. None of Wenger's central defenders are to be feared. Their goalkeeper has been unreliable of late.

We are above Arsenal. We are the top team in London. We are a team in great spirits with very high morale at present. We are at home. There will be a great atmosphere. We have not lost at home to Arsenal since September 2007, nearly 6 years ago. Since then we have beaten them twice at home and even broke our duck at The Emirates.

We are a team in ascendancy. We are the bookies' favourites. We will win. We will win 2-1!

COME ON YOU SPURS!

Tomorrow's match referee will be Mark Clattenburg, who this season has officiated in our away wins against Aston Villa and West Brom.
