More Kane statistics
Just when you thought that Spurs' 6-1 away win at Leicester last Thursday was not only our biggest such win of the season, but the biggest Premier League away win of the season, Spurs and the incredible Harry Kane trumped their own achievement with a 7-1 win at Hull!
The win at Hull was also our biggest ever away win.
Harry Kane won man of the match for the second successive game, both with high scores of 9.3 (Leicester) and 9.4 (Hull). It is the eighth time Harry has won our vote this season. Hat-tricks against West Brom and Stoke also got him scores of 9 or more in our post-match survey.
Harry scored 29 Premier league goals in the season. Middlesbrough managed just 27! Kane now has a total of 78 Premier league goals, and became the sixth player to score hat-tricks in successive PL games and first since Rooney in 2011. Only Shearer managed more PL hat-tricks in one season than Harry (5 in 1995-96). This was Harry Kane's fourth Premier League hat-trick of the season, and his fifth in all games. As recorded in the Hull match report Harry won the Golden Boot for the second successive year. Sadly, the concession of one goal prevented Hugo Lloris sharing the Golden Glove for most clean sheets with Chelsea's Courtois.
As for the Spurs team, this was our highest finish in the league since 1962-63. We should have finished second last year, of course! We became the fifth Premier League side to register 400 wins. It stands to reason that statistically, we are the fifth best Premier League team since it was created 25 years ago. Everton are sixth in that all-time table, and have won 51 less games, winning 123 less points than Spurs.
Spurs became the third team to score 7 or more goals in an away Premier League game, after Man Utd v Forest in February 1999 and Forest v Sheffield Wednesday April 1995. You will remember that we had another big away win against Hull (5-1) in August 2009, when another ace Spurs striker, Jermain Defoe, also got a hat-trick.
P.S - Christian Eriksen has more assists in a Premier League season (15) than any other Spurs player.
